At the foot of the Tatras mountains in Poland, there is a very special valley called Dolina Chochołowska. It is one of the best places to see purple crocus flowers as they abundantly cover the hillside in a lilac bloom for a few brief weeks between March and April.

I held your hand in Venice
The boat-hand throws a clean, thick, sand-coloured rope around a glossy black anchor point, the rope tightens in an extreme pull making a luxurious sound of stretching fibres. The many nations of tourists swarm the water-bus on its way to San Marco; the most magnificent of squares in all of Europe let alone Italy.
On days like this, when the February mist smacks you in the face with an icy hand, the weather can change within a few seconds presenting to you the secret sides of Venice and her many masks. Today, she is veiled in a late winter mist, when the boat goes from a clear blue sky into the chilly white haze. Suddenly Venice has become cold and mysterious. Boats appear from the cold, white cloud like a mirage from a dream, ghost ships from a Venetian myth, and all the workers, the boat captain and the water-bus stewards all do exactly as they should, turning and braking just in time to turn a watery corner and approach the serene monument of St Mark’s Basilica and The Doge’s Palace.
